Shaowu, Fujian, China
Hey Hey and a Big G'Day toya,

Not long after arriving home from my Asian Adventure seven years ago I was driving along a highway with some friends and we came across a guy making his way hitching. After the many that have gone missing around the world due to either hitching or picking up a hitchhiker it is not often that I would do such a thing.

On this day (like I said above) I was with friends.
On this day I met a guy I named Kev The Canadian Backpacker.

We were in no way heading to his destination but he was such a nice guy that we decided to take him all the way to Wilson Promontory where he spent several days before making his way back to Melbourne City where he stayed with me and my girlfriend of the time.

We have kept in touch since then usually by email but there have been a few phone calls here and there.

I was talking to Kev today and things aren't going his way at the moment and haven't been for quite some time. He is a constant reader of my blog and always lets me know how happy it makes him. Though this entry is about a visit from my Luo Wei and Canadian Jo's daughter Jackie I would like to send a bunch of happiness to my buddy Kev The Canadian Backpacker.

A smile for your day my friend.
Always remember, above the clouds the sky is always blue.
The clouds move my friend but the big happy blue always stays there for you.
May all the happy smiles in each photo help yours grow bigger each day.

Beers N Noodles toya buddy.....shane

PS: The photos to this entry were taken over the last two and a half weeks.

There I was sitting at home one night and I received a text from Luo Wei telling me she had posted me a present and that it would arrive the following evening. How strange I thought for China Post to have the ability to move something so fast.

I then thought twice about it and realised that could never happen!
It then clicked....it was Luo Wei!

The Sneaky Bugger Super Northern Train Girl spent yet another twenty two or three hours in a hard seat on a train once again. I really do wish she would allow me to buy her plane tickets....GGGRRR! Haahahah! We really did have the most beautiful time together and the next time we will get to see each other will be in July during my Summer Break Adventures.

The Sneaky Bugger Super Northern Train Girl sadly left at 5:30am Saturday morning and spent another twenty two or three hours in yet another hard seat heading back north to her home city of Kaifeng to visit her mother.

The Sneaky Bugger Super Northern Train Girl is right now, as I am typing this sitting in yet another hard seat for the next eight hours heading west from Kaifeng City to Xi'an City to make it back to her work before Wednesday.

Bloody hell mate!
And I thought I have clocked up a few hours on board trains over the past ten years!

PSS:

A week prior to Luo We's visit was the arrival of Canadian Jo's daughter Jackie who I'm sure like the rest of us must have put on a billion kilos in the two weeks that followed. Huge dinner followed huge dinner. Night after night, day after day, I can tell you the Chinese surely know how to make their visitors feel more than welcome!

Between feasts she got to visit Wuyi Shan and the wonderful port city of Xiamen.

Switch it up baby!
It was great to meetchya mate.
Just watch out for those Dingo's I've sent your way!
