Sofia, Bulgaria
Sofia History Museum:
The building stands out in Banski Square and it used to be the former Municipal Baths .
Elegant style and architecture. Nowadays it hosts a permanent exhibition of the Sofia History Museum.
Mineral Taps:
While out on my second sight-seeing stroll in Sofia I came to the spot where 30 taps of hot mineral spring water flow nonstop day and night since antiquity - 4 century BC. They are found next to the building of the Central Mineral Baths.
The water's taste is mild in a way and has a kind of peculiar flavour, not so pleasing. The fact that it has low mineralization makes it perfect for consumption when cool though!
I saw many people coming here holding plastic containers and bottles, waiting behind the taps to fill them up as it is considered medicinal for specific ailments.
The temperature of the water is perhaps enough to brew oneself a cup of tea with it.
