On our way from the coast inland the
mountain crossing into the north of Camberra was covered in fog, so
slow and steady.

 





Back in Benalla it was see doctors and
get back into the routine of walking around the about 5km Lake walk
early morning then into the swimming pool to swim lapps. It shows how
unfit you get when we left last time we were back doing Larry 2 km in
the pool and me about 1.5 km. Now its 1 km each.

Along with visiting and spending time
with family and friends ,Larry helps to finish carport roof, lay some
bricks while I help where I can cooking and doing household stuff.
I go shopping with two granddaughters
Sophie and Chelsea a couple of times and have visits to make
jewellery. Larry and I go to see another granddaughter Naomi play
the drums and sing at carols by candle light. We have seen her before
in the band playing drums but did not know about the singing that she
is very good at.
 

  We se her a few other times during our stay. We only
got to see the youngest grandson a couple of times playing cricket ,
he has changed so much , so much taller and the voice and looks are
changing as he becomes a young man, nearly 16.The oldest grandson did
come home from university a couple of times over the holiday period
but still had to return for his part-time employment in the town of
the university.
As for the youngest granddaughter and
the new granddaughter we got to go camping with them and spend a few
other days with them . Our sons and granddaughters life is changing
and 2017 sees the start of a combined family giving us a new daughter
-in -law and granddaughter and all is good.

 
On our way out of the area again we
stop to have coffee with Sophie and then stop to watch Chelsea play
cricket in her brothers ,Adams team. This was the only time we got to
see her play cricket , she also plays for another team of mostly
girls but thats away from Benalla.
 
We make our final stop in Victoria at
Wodonga to stay a few days to visit the oldest granddaughter Steff
and her partner Josh. They have been in Canada the couple of months
we were in Benalla so have not seen them only a quick visit on their
return.

Again plans have to change we were to
stay in Benalla longer and see the faimily for longer then stay a
couple of weeks with Steff but a few rushed days had to do until the
end of the year.

We had put ourselves forward for
volunteering in all states National Parks for camp hosts. Well we got
replies to fill out forms and get police checks then nothing for
awhile. Then WA sent emails with vacancies in different parks , we
accepted one then got another then got offered even more, but at this
stage some of March ,April And May is enough. So leave we must so we
can get there without any rush, its a long way to the north of WA.
