Orthodox Cathedral, Freedom Monument, Powder Tower

Riga, Latvia

After my morning bus ride from Tallinn Estonia to Riga Latvia, I dumped my bags at my hotel ready to explore since I was only here for the one day. I passed back thru the central market navigating my way to the Orthodox Cathedral which was outside the town centre, so I could navigate my way back to the centre after.

The old town is bordered by a canal and a grand theatre. Many couples tie padlocks on the canal bridge.

There is a central tree boulevard dividing the street traffic so hard to get a clear shot of the Cathedral. No pics allowed again and it had blue domes capped with gold outer domes.

I was navigating my way back to the old town now where most of the sights were. This led me to Freedom Square where soldiers stand guard to a tall monument.

Next was the Powder Tower which housed a war museum and was free entrance for a change. It spanned a couple of centuries upto the Soviet era.
