Key West, Florida, United States
Feb 11, 2013A sea day that included swimming, mini golf and we check out the waterworks slides and tank. Quite impressive fun that will open if the sea is calm. Hailey takes a few runs on the big slides and the little slides. There is a giant buck that fill and dumps water all over the place. Meganh is cautious of this but manages to time it to avoid the deluge.
Feb 12, 2013Key WestWe are booked on a Glass Bottom Boat adventure that will take us to a reef - six miles off shore. The original destination / reef is cancelled due to the rough seas. We witness sponges, fish, clam and all sorts of sea life. It is interesting but lacks much wow factor. We cruise back to Port and transfer to the Conch Train which takes us all over Key West and we are given the entire story of this place at the end of the Florida Keys. We see Hemingway's house as it was, old mansions from the time of the civil war and many busy pubs and dining places including Sloppy Joes and Margaritaville. This place with the climate and the beaches is an easy must return to stay awhile destination. Hailey and Meganh go swimming and meet a 9 year old girl who is with her mom and is in fact the daughter of the Captain.
