Quick Stop in Nice-Ville

Nice, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azu, France
We ate dinner here in Nice, because we weren't able to catch the train we wanted. It worked out fine though. We ate some chicken, bread and fries that Bryan ordered up in French like a pro.

I quickly exhausted my entire French vocabulary by saying "bonjor" "oui oui" and "merci!" I've warned Bryan that until he teaches me more words and phrases these will be on a tight loop, whenever even mildly applicable . ;)

Then it was time to get on the TGV. That's the fast train. We took it down the French Riviera (where I was surprised to see more palm trees - which I don't really associate with France) and into the countryside.

Finally we ended our evening in Avignon, and are currently enjoying our air conditioned hotel room.

Goodnight!

When you think of France, do you think palm trees? Us either, but there they are, all over the riviera. Mer wasn't kidding about saying all 3 of her French words in a loop. I took two years of French back in high school and I'm still surprised how much of it I retained. I am by no means fluent, but I could get us by and stammer my way through a conversation when necessary. I actually can do a lot better reading, where I can go at my own pace.
