Day 1 - Sydney to Gundagai

Gundagai, New South Wales, Australia
After 6 months of counting down the weeks our trip was finally upon us, as always everything is way too hectic in the hours leading up to our departure.

Random thoughts bouncing around my head at this point include: The bike rack needs installing onto the towbar, then the bikes need to be secured. We need to remember all chargers for USB, MicroUSB, 6v and 12v powered devices. We need to get the topo maps SD card out of our other car for the GPS. We need to bring several GB of entertainment for when we are out of TV broadcast areas. We need to remember the tripod.

Finally after 5 hours we were ready to go, we hit the M5 but felt somewhat numbed due to the strain of preparation. Stopped for fuel at Berrima - crikeys that place needs a decent service station. They didn't sell Premium Unleaded and they didn't have air for tyres. In order to try to get some air in the front driver side I had to unpack one of our compressors less than 3 hours from Sydney. Anyway this resulted in my breaking of the latch which holds it onto the tyre thingy - lucky I brought a backup compressor eh?

Got to Gundagai around 6:30pm and set up camp by the river. We then cooked dinner, showered and had an early one.
