COMMENTS ON A NICE CAFÉ BAR

 
Well, the name given to this beautiful Café bar "Aeriko" in Greek has two meanings . It means 'aerial' from the sounds and winds, but also a fairy figure. The truth is that the unique beauty of the location is breathtaking and there is no way to pass by and not want to stop for a drink or come here to enjoy this magic spot. I guess with the name given the owners think of it as the ‘secret place’ where fairies and pixies live. So if you are overwhelmed with the beauty of the surroundings you might come across a fairy as well!

LOCATION: The Café bar is located on the main road of Portaria on the way to Makrinitsa. It is in an exquisite and relaxed location overlooking the imposing city of Volos and the slopes of Mount Pelion.

ATMOSPHERE: Since it is summer we sat outside in the beautiful garden surrounded by plane and aspen trees and a vine arbour. The interior is warm and cozy with the typical architecture of the area, traditional wood furnishings and classic décor. The relaxing lounge with the imposing fireplace is ideal for winters’ cold nights . Candles and beautiful sitting corners call for romantic moments under the sounds of pleasant soft music.

We came out here to chill after the walk we had to the Path of Centaurs and we had some coffee and a refreshing local drink made of cherries. We were surrounded mostly by local youngsters which have turned this spot out here to be one of the most popular café bars in Portaria. I have the feeling that no matter how many times you come here, each time will be different depending on the time of day or night and the weather conditions.

Try the homemade delicious desserts, cakes and ice cream. Have a cocktail or warm yourself up with a hot chocolate drink or a cup of coffee. I am sure you won’t be disappointed.
