Saint Julian's, Island of Malta, Malta
St . Julian's Location
Friends who visited Malta spoke highly of this district and I was extremely happy when I realized that both hotels I was to stay were in this beautiful area.
It could be a great base for exploring the island!
Cheap and easy access from the airport brought me to the neighborhood of the Hilton and from the minute I stepped off the Airport couch X2 it was a matter of a 5 minute walk to reach the hotel.
Backwards by taxi to the airport it is a 20 minute ride for just €21.00 if booked through the hotel and in my opinion worth it.
St. Julian's used to be a fishing village, later on it turned to be a summer residence for well off locals and lately it has been developed into an upmarket residential area of the island .
SLIEMA: (means peace and comfort in the Maltese language)
Lining the coastline up to the neighbouring St. Julian’s, is a promenade known as the Sliema Front located in the northern Harbour District.
We got to this area accidentally by bus that drove us through a major residential and commercial area not of much interest to us though!
What stands out here is the promenade itself with the fishing boats and yachts.
Definitely a nice spot for photos, popular with locals during summer, joggers and walkers but also unique for romantic moon strolls.
Open air restaurants and cafes have made Sliema the hub of social nightlife.
PACEVILLE:
The Paceville area, was just a 10 to 15 minute walk from the Hilton where we were staying, -a Nightlife hub and a party destination on the whole.
