Because we didn't take our planned overnight train to Jodhpur, it was not possible for us to go all the way through in one trip, so we broke the journey at Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan. We found some very cheap accommodation for the night near to the bus station for our early morning trip the next day. It wasn't until we went to bed that we realized why the room had been so cheap, the walls were only flimsy partitions and noise went on all night.
After filling out the copious forms required to check into even one night's accommodation that is required in India, we went out to explore the city.
We were walking along passing the usual cows and not taking any notice, when out of the blue one of the cows butted Avan a really sharp blow, which resulted in a huge bruise.
We take the cows very seriously now and give them a wide berth!
