Mahebourg, Mauritius
Today I stayed in during the morning to get caught up on some "office" work: sermons, e-mails, planning and so on. At lunch Suren came by and we went for a Chinese lunch in Quatre Bornes. It was a good restaurant and frequented mostly by locals, of all different races. I saw many white Mauritians there, the first time I've seen such a concentration. There are such a mix of races and cultures on this island, and yet things are very harmonious. There's hope for the planet yet!

In the mid-afternoon I started the drive down toward the airport . I took my time, stopping from time to time to shoot some video and take photos. I drove past the airport and on to Mahebourg for a look, then on past that town to Vieux Grand Port, which was the original Dutch landing site (they were the first to claim the island) and also the site of the first port on the island. It was worth the drive and I got some good images.

I filled the car and drove it back to the airport to turn it in. Then I checked in and headed to the business lounge. They have internet access here so I can start getting caught up with mail, and have a snack as well before the night flight to Bombay.
