Given the sticker shock of my gas bill which jumped to 122,000w ($110) in Dec from 53,000w in Nov ($47), I'm going to leave the heat off, shut the water mains, drain the pipes, and hope everything will be ok when I get back. Two week forecasts keep changing from daily highs of +8 to zero. Overnight lows are expected between +1 to -8. Inside temp in my apartment is at least 10 degrees more so it should be ok.

Temperature on my trip will be +32 everyday until I get to picturesque Ha Long Bay near Hanoi where it could be daily highs as low as +9!!!
