Today on my last full day in Valladolid I had a spare day. I had thought about using this day to goto the big pyramid Chichen Itza but I had already been in 2016. It would be hassle with buses trying to get there and entrance fees to see some of the same sites I had seen at Coba and Ek Balam. Instead I was going to use the day to bike around Valladolid.
Bike rental was 150P/day ($10 CAD) from my guesthouse. I said I only need a few hours since Valladolid was not that big. They said 30P ($2 CAD)/hr which was fine. They then started giving me coupons for Cenote's outside of town but I said no thank you. I was not interested in Cenotes and was not going to bike outside the town centre. There are no handbrakes instead a reverse slow braking system similar to when I rented in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
First I went up Calle 40 to Casa China. Not sure what this was, just a fancy house or any significance to China. The house was locked anyway
Then I crossed to Calle 44 where there is Inglesia de la Candalaria. This was one of the first sights when I arrived at the Valladolid bus station trying to orient myself
I then went down Calz de los Frailes which is the south west diagonal street to the Convent San Bernardino which I visited on my first day. It has a Valladolid tourist sign outside
Then I cut across back to Cathedral Square as the midday heat was rising.
I was back by the guesthouse by 1.50pm. They should have charged 60P for two hours but charged 90P ($6 CAD) which was fine. It was hot and I wanted to shower.
Later I went to Burger King as they have free drink refills and had to carry the cup I filled again all the way back to the guesthouse without tipping to fill my other drink bottles
Going out for a walk again eastbound was another church just one block that I had never noticed since I had been here
One last walk around on my last day
