Toronto Island is a popular recreational escape for city dwellers and can see a surge in weekend population. There are also a cluster of homes at the eastern end held by a coveted few.
I haven't been on the Island for a few years as there was no need with so many other city biking trails. However it is worth checking out if you are visiting and want to see the skyline from a different perspective
Private water taxis cost $12 CDN or you can take the larger city ferry for less. Both include passage for bikes at no charge.
The eastern homes on Ward Island and Algonquin Islands have been renovated in recent years to high standards and are no longer wooden shacks they once used to be. They also have their own exclusive views of the city skyline .
