We booked a city and canal tour of Amsterdam. The trip takes us through a marvelous place both modern and full of history. We stopped at a wooden shoe factory and a cheese factory then onto a working windmill with people who live inside, to Rembrandt's statue, the Royal Palace, past the red light district then onto a canal tour. The city lies on reclaimed land and and is really a marvel of engineering. All of the canals collect water and drain into the Amstel River. The canal tour took us thru the posher districts, the business districts and the trading districts of Amsterdam.
