Vienna

Vienna, Vienna, Austria
The flight from Dubai to Vienna took about 6 hours. I nodded into semi-consciousness whilst watching the movie Unsane starring Claire Foy (who played the Queen in The Crown) — is she American or British?! It was a bit too horrific for my liking, but helped pass the time.
Landing was an interesting experience — I turned on the view of the plane’s camera that was aimed at the view below, and so could see the terrain we were passing over, and then the plane’s shadow as we approached the runway.
Our Emirates chauffeur picked us up from the airport and drove us to the small boutique hotel that is located within walking distance of the city centre. After settling in to our room, we set off to explore, with the primary goal being to keep ourselves awake as long as possible.
We dragged ourselves slowly into the city centre, peeked inside St Stephen’s Cathedral, and then wandered up to the Danube Canal. With feet beginning to ache, it was time to turn back. We found a supermarket where we stolcked up on bread, butter, cheese, tomatoes, etc., and then dragged ourselves back to our hotel. (The weather was perfect —warm with a slight breeze. Summer!)
It was 8pm when we turned out the light, relieved to finally allow ourselves the luxury of some much needed sleep

And our bus pulled into the hostel, which was conveniently located just down the road from your hotel. I'm pretty sure I saw your limo coming away after dropping you and Michael. Vienna is beeeeeeeeautiful. Picked up some bread rolls but realised I forgot to pack my vegemite, so will just settle for dry bread and the remaining water in my drink bottle. Soooo tired, but can't wait to explore Vienna with you!

Yes, Debbie, the old buildings here in Venner are magnificent. Tom, I have a tube of Vegemite here with me, a gift for Hermann, but I’m sure he won’t mind if you pinch a little for your toast!

Sad that Tom and I are in the hostel but we are very excited about or opportunity to explore Vienna together. Is Ian on the bus?

Hi. I'm not going up to Adelaide until next week so I can check out all the wonderful places you are going to this week. Cheers

Yes, Dad is somewhere on the bus - maybe he’s nodded off! I’ll give him a gentle nudge.

Yes Lynne and Tom. I am at last on the bus, which at first went without me. I had trouble with being able to see and hear daily reports of the trip for the first few days. Hopefully, I will be able to find a seat on the bus as I have been looking forward to meeting up with you and our band of loyal bus passengers on this latest European tour with Mel and Mic.

Sorry, but in my above written comment, in my haste to catch up with the bus, I incorrectly typed "Lynne and Tom" instead of "Tracy and Tom".
