Once I climb up the cliff again and reconnect with the trail, I come across a large group of young Europeans, as well as a group of Moroccan tourists . Obviously I'm not the only person who knows about this area, though it doesn’t seem like too many climb down the cliff to experience the magical waterfall/waterslide spot…

The path follows the river for ways and there are even a couple of little lean to structures that serve drinks and can cook a tagine for you—except you have to wait for them to make it from scratch, and I don’t have that kind of time.

Finally the path reconnects with the road as it follow the canyon, hugging its walls. Here the scenery does get spoiled a little bit, as it seems that the road was widened recently and the rock and debris were just dumped in the river, but there are still plenty of photogenic spots—and pools tempting me to go for another swim. In the summer I’ll bet this whole place is packed with day trippers from Agadir coming for a picnic, but today I’ve got this stretch almost all to myself. As I walk along I soak it in, snapping photos of the blend of rugged cliffs, caves, the splashing stream and blue pools… A wonderful hike, overall.

And then the canyon opens up a bit allowing space for a palm forest grove and a village. Actually there are two villages, one on the side of the mountain and the other deep inside the grove. I would like to dive into that grove to explore the second time, but I’m pressed for time. So I stock up on snack food to keep me going for the rest of the way, and follow the road as it winds up the hillside, bidding beautiful Paradise behind.

You were beautiful, thank you for everything.
