Tintagel, United Kingdom
A cooler day today, but dry. I parked my luggage in the library (next to the bus stop) and I went to the visitor center to buy a tub of Dunstaple Farm Double Chocolate. YUM. Too bad that I can't take this home with me. I took buses to Tintagel with a one hour stop in Bude. Chilly wait in a shelter. Tintagel town is similar to towns in Door County- tourist shops, pubs, restaurants. Dropped off my luggage and headed to Tintagel Castle. Wow!! The walk up many many steep steps, some with over 1 foot risers was scary with the height and wind and not always handrails, but it was worth it. This Mom was carrying a child much of the way. She also walked uphill to the exit when I opted to spend 2 pounds for a ride. I didn't find King Arthur or Merlin. Supper was great.
