Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka
hi,

Today I left Kandy for my trip to Nuwara Eliya . I took a train to Nanu Oya which was already full when it arrived at Kandy trainstation. I started in the kitchen but when they asked me to pay extra for a chair I decided to sit on the ground with a lot of locals. There was a official guide (called Salman of the deaf) in the train who guided some tourists and he arranged a perfect place for me in the first cabin (1st class). So, the last two hours I had a perfect view on the tea plantations during my train trip. I arrived on 2:00 pm on Nanu Oya trainstation and took a bus to Nuwara Eliya. I stay in the Single three hotel where I have a fine room for 800 rp.

It's a bit strange to see that the locals wearing fleeces, ski jackets and pants while it's more than 20 degrees. I admit, its feels a bit chilly when you are used to 30 degrees but to wear a ski jackets ? I'am used to wear them when its -5 or more.

I also visited Pedro Tea Estate about 3,5 km east of Nuwara Eliya on the way to Kandapola.Factory tours cost 50 rp and takes 30 minutes. It's also nice to walk on the tea plantations to see the workers collect their tea and shoot some nice pictures.
