I took a taxi from Nuwara Eliya to Ella because the hotelowner offered me one for a good price after I was telling him to go by train. This is also a good opportunity to visit Horton Plains N.P. Sri Lanka's second-and third-highest mountains-Kirigalpotta (2395m) and Totapola (2395m) are part of this park. The plains are a beautiful, silent and strange world with some excellent views.

I arrived in Ella at 4:00 pm and I took a room at Soorya Gust Inn for 600 rp. That night I had a nice dinner at the balcony of the guesthouse and I had an interesting talk with the owner, Lanka.
