After picking up my luggage, I went outside to see Roy, the tuk tuk driver waiting for me, the traffic was crazy and motorbikes were coming from all places but it was very interesting ride. When I reached hotel which is middle of nowhere, I was not happy with my room no 3 on hotel "252" as it was on ground floor near the pool. Being a solo female, I had to close the curtains otherwise people can see my room and I did mention this to the hotel Manager but he did nothing. I had chosen this hotel for its good ratings on Tripadvisor. This is one hotel on my whole SE Asia trip I was not happy with.

I am a Mozzie magnet so I had been taking maximum precautions for insect bites. Putting repellents, wrist bands and also carried ultra sonic device. So far so good.
But
While I was in the toilet/ bathroom, the mosquitoes attacked me for the first time on this trip. Ouch !! the bites were itchy .. This really got me worried so I kept the fan on in the bedroom. Mozzies do not like moving air, I had red blotches on my legs and it was painful too..I drank lot of coconut water, wore long sleeves and trousers even though I was boiling in the sweltering heat, anything to keep the nasties off..

Riverside was bustling with people and visitors, I had a look at the Palace and monuments from outside. Then the rain came, It poured and poured. My first experience of monsoon rain.
Roy was soaking wet outside in Tuk tuk as he put the rain shelter for me but he told me he was used to the rain.. Poor mite. I felt guilty and I told him to take me straight to the restaurant called “ The Vegetarian”. Food in here is only $1 for any one dish.. I ordered fresh mango juice, pumpkin soup, spring rolls and dumplings I got big bowl of soup, then came the spring rolls, I was surprised to see that there were 8 spring rolls on the plate.... All for only one dollar !!! brilliant..The spring rolls were absolutely delicious.. Then came the dumplings .. yum yum..

I started talking to one of the chef who was eating on other table due to near closing time. I told them it was too much food and he said they would pack it for me. Few people came for take away fried rice etc .. Non vegetarians as well, Roy was back to pick me up and I invited him to eat there and choose anything he liked. I talked to the waiters and chefs and they told me the owner being vegetarian had subsidised the prices, I had them pack me a potion of spring rolls and dumplings for my road trip for next day.
I really enjoyed Cambodian vegetarian cuisine.
