2 -4-1 offers for entrance to Tower of London

I met my friend at London Bridge for our day out to Tower of London. We both had taken a rail travel card from Rail station and not from tube station for 2 -4-1 offer for entrance to Tower of London. Many attractions offer 2-4-1 offers with days out guide if you show one day travel card, 7 days travel card or return tickets bought from the rail station with rail logo. This does not apply to Oyster card or Travel card bought from tube station, also you have to print out the voucher from days out guide. Do check what offers are there in day out guide and you can save £££       http://www.daysoutguide.co.uk/2for1-l...

    Tower of London

Tower of London is a castle which oozes of history and is one of the top attractions of London. I waited in the main queue while my friend went to buy the tickets for Tower of London. The wait was about 15 mins and we waited further 5 mins for security on the main line. Total wait was less than 20 mins, it was Saturday and we were there at 10.30 am, we paid for one admission for two people and we split the cost. The price for Tower of London is £22 so two people going together pay only £22 and it works out only £11 per person with the 2-4-1 voucher.

We went straight to the British Crown Jewels as there can be queues here but we just waited for 5 mins here and the queues moved fast, the jewels are amazing but no photography allowed here. The Yeoman tours for 60 mins is included in your ticket price are recommended as they will tell you tales of the past and are good entertainment.

The White Tower contains armour, weapons, artillery used by the various kings, knights of England including armour of Tudor King Henry who had two of his wife's beheaded in the tower. Inside some of the towers there are holding cells with prisoner's graffiti, torture chambers which is the Towers dark history. The tower is on river Thames near Tower Bridge and we spend 4 fascinating hours there.

After your visit to Tower of London you can go to St Catherine`s Docks a hidden jewel which is lovely Marina in beautiful surroundings with restaurants, pubs, Dickens pub does decent pizzas and if you fancy an Indian than Mala Restaurant does a great lunch time special. We went for Champagne afternoon tea at The Grosvenor Hotel, they made vegetarian sandwiches for us and gave us unlimited tea, scones, cakes and jams which were a delight, champagne was great, just the perfect way to end our magical day.

  Here are few tips.

Wear very comfortable shoes as there are steps with uneven cobbled surfaces and you have to walk a lot as this is a vast fortress.

Have a good breakfast and bring a snack, bottle of water so you do not have to run around looking for food or water.

Go early in morning the queue will be smaller.

Go straight to Crown Jewels as there will be queues here.

Take the Yeoman tours for 60 mins included in your ticket.
