2020 Peru

This was supposed to be two months seeing South America, combining an Oceania Cruise with land tours on our own. And then the Corona Virus hit. Luckily, we had ten fantastic days. Started about a year in advance by reading tons of travel blogs and watching u-tubes. Determined that hiring a tour guide for Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley would be best since we do not speak Spanish. After much research and emails, decided on a private tour with a local guide, Hernan Hermoza, The nervous part was wiring money to his bank account in Peru. Not something we'd normally do, but corresponded enough to feel ok. Very thankful we did; can't say enough about how great he was. He made the arrangements for the train, all sightseeing tickets, and driver, Issac. We made the Lima>Cusco flight arrangements and used Booking.com to make hotel arrangements. Two of our cousins met us in Lima, and the four of us had a perfect life-long dream trip!
