Nice, Provence, France
The breakfast at the Beau Rivage was really good...one of our best. Such a nice treat.

We went for a short walk around the outdoor market, starting with the beautiful flower market . So tempted to buy some flowers. Maryse bought a beautiful print for her place.

We did a boat tour from Nice to Villefranche and back, seeing all the beautiful homes of the rich and famous around Cap Ferrat.

From the boat we went up to the top of the citadel (there is nothing left of it). Maija and I hoofed it up the 200 stairs, Paul and Dorothy took the elevator. There is a lovely park at the top with views over Nice and on the other side, the Nice port. Lots of families were out today.

Later in the afternoon we walked along the Promenades des Anglais. There were a few people in the water but not many. It is still only about 60F but apparently it will gain a degree a day up to about 80F in the summer.

We had a terrific group dinner this evening at Koudu on the Promenade. I had a lovely shrimp salad with avocado and mango...will have to try this at home. Main course was sea bass and for dessert the fresh fruit salad which sounds boring but the syrup was yummy and topped with vanilla icecream. I was a happy girl. Maryse gave out awards: Paul got 'Most photos taken' and Dorothy, Maija and I got 'Most scarves worn'. Lots of fun.

Today was Maryse's birthday so a few of us met in the bar at 10:30 to have a drink in celebration. (I was already in my pj's when Dorothy called to say what was happening). Susan, Becky, Tina, Julia and Steve, Dorothy, Maryse and I. Steve bought a round of Kir for everyone. It was a very nice way to end the tour.
