Off to Livingstone: more long travel days!

Lusaka, Zambia
7 am and on the road from Kande Beach bound for Livingstone but that is still 3 days away.

No private cars, pass many villages, schools and clinics.

Wood and charcoal road side sale.

Lilongwe, capital of Malawi and an hour's stop to simply restock our food, money for anyone and then off. Yes, that is a photo of New Zealand kiwifruit being shipped all the way from home costing NZ$6.30 for the 3 or only $2.10 each!

See how the houses and buildings slowly start to change as we head towards the border between Malawi and Zambia.

Also the photo of the "suggestion box" standing all by itself at the border crossing.

Next day and a 560 km drive onto the Eureka campsite just outside Lusaka, capital of Zambia.

The houses become round houses and many are painted, more cars, motorcycles but still scarce except in the main towns.

TV aerials and the odd satellite dish but no power lines meaning powered by batteries.

Zambia is certainly more developed than Malawi.

The Eureka campsite was within a private game reserve so we had zebras and water buffaloes around us.
