2 days in Perth

Perth, Western Australia, Australia
Flew from Singapore to Perth Tuesday morning. The 5 hour flight went quickly and I made a 'single serving' friend who was traveling from India to Adalade.

Hostel is a bit more basic but has a kitchen so I have been cooking some of my own meals. Very warm in perth, has been 35 degrees on both days.

Went for a walk around Perth Tuesday evening and down to the river to a bar called 'The Lucky Shag' for a nice dinner, beer and football match.

Today looked round the city in the morning, then went to Conaston beach which is about 10miles out of the city. Beautiful white sand beach where I snoozed for a bit then read my book. Got chatting to the life guards who confirmed there were shark sights the day before and no-one could go in the water for a few hours. The life guards are brave out here. If someone goes missing in the water they have to go out on their board to look for them, even if there have been shark sightings in the area.

After Conaston some locals recommended going along the coast to Freemantal, a lovely sea side town with a great marina and a nice chilled atmosphere. Had a coffee in a restuarant on the marina. They had the best marine fish tanks, 4 huge ones in the resturant and even tanks in the toilets!

Didn't find there was a huge amount to see in Perth, but really enjoyed going to the coast. Up early tomorrow to fly to Melbourne.

Loved the pictures of the fishtank in the toilets, the only other place I have seen that is at Male airport in the Maldives
