Loving Melbourne

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Arrive in Melbourne on Thursday 2nd and my friend Rowe kindly picked me up from the airport. Stayed at her lovely apartment for 4nights. So nice to have my own room and bathroom, washing machine and use of a local gym. Also have a friend called Dave in Melbourne who has let me stay for the next 2 nights or so (thanks guys!).

Rowe and Dave have been great hosts, showing me around the city on Friday night. We went out for dinner at the docklands. Had a great Aussy meal, damper bread for starter (soda bread) and chicken parma (chicken breast in breadcrums, topped with ham and cheese... so tasty). We then went to Southbank for drinks and along to Crown Hotel, where there were huge pillars which shot out massive fireballs. A great surprise when they started going off.

Saturday they gave me a guided tour of the Australian Open tennis venue. Amazing to look round behind the scenes as I'm a huge fan. So excited to see all the blue courts and actually walking onto one. We went to St Kilder beach for a nice lunch, then onto

Brigton beach which had very colourful beach huts. We chilled there for a bit and had a little swim in the sea. Great day out.

Today went on a free tour around the main square, Federation square. Meet a nice German girl from Hamburg and we looked round Hoiser Lane together, the famous graffiti street.

After that met up with a English guy I met on Friday and we explored Botanical gardens. In the evening had beers and Asian dumplins with Rowe, Dave and Rowe's boyfriend.

Have been spoilt with fantasic company in Melbourne, especially hanging out with my friends Rowe and Dave. Enjoying Melbourne so much have decided to stay till Saturday. Still got 2 tours to do and plenty still to see.
p.s. got burnt today, have red arms LOL.
