Golfing Turkey (No not Craig)

İzmir, İzmir, Turkey
This morning started with perhaps the best breakfast we had in Turkey so far.  Mr. Happy and his crew were apparently starved for someone to pamper, so we were served several courses of excellent Turkish breakfast as well as additional fruit and rolls and omelets, far beyond the norm.  We were simply not able to eat it all, and apologized profusely because it was really a work of art.  However, any more and we would have been too bloated to play our round of golf, so we took our leave with much well-wishing.  (Again, these people are all so nice…)
And the golfing was indeed fine.  We had a fun round at a resort course that was not very busy although we did have to wait a few times on the foursome ahead of us.  We lost quite a few balls again, but still had some left at the end that we gave (along with an Alaska Railroad logo ball) to the man and young son following us.  Phyllis was determined to remove weight from the luggage, so she was going to just leave the balls on the 18th hole, but Craig’s idea was a better one, as we saw the boy hit some awesome shots for his age.
After golf, we headed to Izmir and found our hotel without great difficulty (just a little).  After we settled in, we walked along yet another waterfront, this one not quite so picturesque and more workmanlike, as Izmir is not at all a tourist town.  Nevertheless we found a good spot for a beer and then another one for our meal.  It was a bit chilly but the restaurant helpfully had little blankets at all the outside tables… a nice touch.
