Yesterday I posted that the weather today
would be significantly different in that we might get some rain.
That happened,
at around lunchtime but that wasn’t the sole reason that we’d decided to stay
put – the wind was blowing quite strongly from the east so we would be battling
against it as we made our way slowly back to Fehmarn. As such, I don’t have
anything of note to report other than we came across another Cruising
Association boat in the old harbour, a Nordship 43 belonging to Stephen &
Jane Beales. They kindly invited us on board for coffee but as they had company
and we had shopping to do, we declined but had a chat with them from the
quayside. They keep Tabaluga in Augustenborg, it’s nice that we now have been
there so at least we know what people are talking about when they say that that
is where they overwinter.
The rain cleared later in the afternoon so
we went for a walk in town and bought a few more items of groceries and noticed
some more old buildings, which I’ve included here. Tomorrow the wind should
have eased so we’re going to a new harbour for us, the only one we haven’t been
to on the island of Ærø, called Søby. Unless, that is, we change our minds
tomorrow, given the winds.
