A quiet day

Marina Burgstaaken GmbH, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
When I first started recording our voyages, many years ago, I then made a decision to, whenever possible, cover every day, no matter how immaterial. Well today falls well and truly into that category. It was cool, with temperatures in the low to mid ‘teens and the wind blew strongly all day making it feel even colder. Still, it was dry so we were able to get some washing done and we also walked into town, preferring to walk rather than ride our bikes as the cobbled road makes riding uncomfortable. I wanted to buy a new pair of shoes for casual hikes and also some shorts. I succeeded in the former, a pair of Sketchers but they wanted too many euros for their cheapest shorts (I don’t want fancy ones as they’re for messing about on the boat). The only other thing to report was that the boatyard seemed very quiet, Ingo & Gordana Smeets weren’t around and the chandlery was closed. Perhaps they take the Monday off as they work on Saturdays, or it’s a national holiday or something.
