Rain, rain, go away!

Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia

 11th -12th November

We take the back road to Port Macquarie from Crescent Head along about 30klm of reasonable gravel road (beats a boring highway), and after a few detours find the little ferry to cross the river (NSW are not big on signs). The ramp to the ferry proves to be at rather a steep angle both boarding and disembarking but we managed to get the Lotus onboard with about 10mm clearance.

Bert and Libby are from Port, however, they opt to stay in the riverside caravan park with us for the first nite (strange people). Their youngest, Phoebe, is at home and comes to visit once we are set up and we are off to the Rydges Hotel for lunch....all is not around the campfire you know!

Port is a large provincial centre and we take the opportunity to get a wheel alignment, hit Bunnings, Annaconda, Coles and various other retail outlets. The stay is more of a resupply than a destination for us! Also, the weather is still tending to rain, especially at night. We have dinner with Bert & Libby t their home on the second night, and we are off to Forster without our travelling friends! Thanks for the great week
