Inverell, New South Wales, Australia

Hanging for some spice! We have heard that there is a great Indian Restaurant in Inverell, Punjabi Fusion, and we are up for it.

We came here via Copeton Dam and had actually intended to stay at the dam tonight, but we missed the turn-off and then found that after several kilometres there was nowhere we could do a u-turn, so Inverell was it! The drive via the dam was very steep, winding and picturesque. Just out of Inverell we visited an olive plantation, Olives of Beaulieu, and the lovely lady set up a tasting of her full range of oils, condiments, jams and sauces...we made her day I feel as we loaded up our depleted larder.

Inverell is interesting, we had not been here before and were surprised by the size of the town, the well preserved old shopping streets and the general tidiness of the town. It has all the retail you need even a Big W and Harvey Norman, not to mention three gun shops and about eight pubs!

The Punjabi Fusion began without much fusion as they had no Daal...evidently a shortage of lentils in Inverell at this time (?). That said the meal was excellent, especially a mixed Tandoori platter for two!
