The Family Parish

Narrabri, New South Wales, Australia
Only 30klm from Yarrie is Narrabri which boasts a Coles, Woolworths and McDonalds along with it's own local businesses and plentiful shops in the town centre. We made straight for the shopping area to replenish the larder, and the rum stores.

Our friend Di, of Yarrie Lakes fame, grew up in this area and we had been invited by her parents, George and Betty Parish, to go to their house in Narrabri for dinner and to stay with them that night . We have known George and Betty for years and were delighted with the offer. They were among the original American Cotton farmers who kicked the industry off in the 1960's and have now retired to Narrabri leaving one of their sons to run the property.

All we can say is that by the time to say farewell the next morning we waddled to the car after Betty had ensured we had eaten enough for the next week....not to mention someone's head which was just a little foggy after a session in the study with George once the girls had retired!

A thoroughly enjoyable night!
