Fishing in Greece is a popular pastime, with opportunities for fishing from the shore or boat, with a flat line or fly, or spear fishing in the Mediterranean waters . A wide range of fish is available, including tuna, octopus, comber, mullet, bream and several more.The evening in Varkiza we were having a stroll by the harbor and came across Antonis. We found him right at work, cleaning his nets and checking what the catch of the day was. The truth is, there are less fish nowadays for several reasons which I don't plan to expand out here but what I know for sure is that the life of a fisherman is not that easygoing. I always show respect for fishermen and Antonis has become a friend by now.We had an interesting chat .....Here are some photos.
