Farmers' Market

Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States
Today, we drove to the Kalamazoo Farmers' Market and picked up some fresh veggies and checked out all the vendors.  This market was the largest one we have gone to on this trip but was a little smaller than the market in Astoria, OR.  This market was unique in that it has a "U" shaped covered, but open sided permanent structure for most of the vendors to set up their stands under so that they can sell in good as well as bad weather.  There was also room for other booths that are not "inside" as well as a place for entertainers to perform, and permanent rest rooms.  Most of the vendors were selling fresh produce, meats, baked goods, and flowers/plants, and a few were selling prepared food, sauces, jellies, jams, honey, wine, etc.  Very few were selling non-food related items.  They also had a couple of food trucks for those who could not wait to get home for a meal or snack.
From there, we drove to Costco and then made a quick stop at Wally World.
Later that evening, we grilled a steak that we picked up at Costco, served with a little of the horseradish cheese on top that we picked up from the Old Mission General Store, a couple of slices of tomatoes we got at the farmers' market with goat cheese from Costco, and some steamed fresh green beans, washed down with red wine from Costco.  Can't get any better than that!
