Breakfast in our hotel was quite nice. There was cereal, lots of fruit, muffins, and korean dishes. Unfortunately we had a 7am check out so had to be in the restaurant at 6.30am and have a quick breakfast. Our morning flight to seoul was to be on budget airline Jin Air.

Before we left Jeju our guide to the island presented us all with dolmon shaped jeju orange chocolates . These are the stone figures of people you see all over the island. On the flight I was told there are no seat selections as I wanted a window seat. Immediately I thought this would be a free for all like on Ryanair which is a total stampede when it comes to boarding flights.

Jin Air was a bit more organized. Tickets were arranged into sections A/B/C. We were C which was the back of the flight. You had to stand in your appropriate line at the boarding gate. First they boarded C at the back of the flight. Seat head covers were also colour coded for each section A/B/C so that people sat in the correct spot. Luckily I was able to get the last window seat at the back. 

Another unique thing about Jin Air was their uniforms. They have to have the coolest uniforms. They wear jeans and bright coloured t-shirts with a baseball cap and running shoes colour co-ordinated. Around their neck is a photo ID name tag. I bet they love dressing up for work everyday .

Jin in arabic means evil genie. Price wise the amount shown on the ticket I was given seems the same as Korean air so not sure how they are a budget airline, about 80,000w ($75)

The flight to Seoul is a short 50 min ride. As we took off from Jeju island first I had a clear view of the airport. Then I saw all of jeju city, the downtown, ferry harbour, and our oceanfront hotel from the firstnite, as well as mount halla the background. We then encountered massive turbulence so went above the clouds.

On the descent into Gimpo airport I had the perfect view again. This is my first time flying into Gimpo airport, seouls domestic airport and former international airport. When you use Incheon the big international airport on the ocean all you see is fishing boats in the ocean. But with Gimpo you see all of the city.

First we approached the Han River which disects the city . I saw Yeouido Island which is where the parliament building is and the famous 63 building which was Seouls first skyscraper. I then had a panaramo view of the river, yeouido island, the city and the mountains. 

For lunch we went to an italian style restaurant called Mad For Garlic. I'm told they have several branches across Seoul. I ordered Shanghai Bomb, a seafood pasta, and they had other interesting titles like Dracula Garlic Bread.

An interesting twist was when they served ice cream for dessert, one person was going to get garlic ice cream but we wouldnt know who. So we all tasted our ice creams and had vanilla. When the two girls who went to the washroom returned we waited to see if it was them. One of them had the garlic ice cream and hated it so we all tried a taste. I quite liked it and wouldnt have minded if i was the one served it.
