Crossing the Nullarbor - Eucla to Penong

Eucla, Western Australia, Australia
"Bom" was the favoured website on New Years morning. Decisions needed to be made! What was cyclone Christine doing? It had crossed the West Australian coastline between Port Hedland and Karratha and stormy and unsettled weather was expected through inland areas, right down to South Australia.
I was called from the caravan with the comment "Family decisions need to be made"! The outcome was!   Pack up and hit the road again! We decided that Penong would be a better place to camp the night than Nundroo. Thanks Wiki Camps for your reviews! Nundroo Roadhouse looked like one to use only as a fuel stop! I think Kevin slept with one eye open when they stopped there in May.
The weather was pleasant when we headed off, but certainly deteriorated by the end of the day. Nice for the Great Australian Bight photo shoot though.  It was hot at the Nullarbor Roadhouse for lunch and there were dust storms on the Fowlers Bay flats around mid afternoon. It was threatening rain when we got to Penong, late in the day. Freezing that night and some rain before morning. Good and wise decisions were made at Eucla.
