Portsmouth, England, United Kingdom

It was still dark as we left but a nice bonus of an early start was a lovely sunrise at the ferry dock. The boat was again pretty empty so we had a choice of just about anywhere to sit. The day was turning into a nice one and we had a calm crossing to Portsmouth, thank goodness, with nice views of the city as we came in. We disembarked with no problem and headed for our destination for the next 2 nights: Rowan Park CC site at Bognor Regis so we could visit our daughter & son-in-law.

The site is up to the usual high standards of the Caravan Club and it was fortunate that we’d booked in as we were next to last to arrive. Although it is close to the Bognor bypass, the road noise is not bad at all and we settled in the lovely autumn sunshine with a cup of tea until our daughter arrived after work. They live 300 miles from us so it was great to see her again, and we spent a lovely evening at their house.
