Caves, sheep, and waterfalls

Vik, Iceland
Today was fabulous! It started off with a great breakfast at our guesthouse in Selfoss, where we met people from Germany, Ireland, and Spain. Had a great chat about world travels and the World Cup... The Spaniards did not want to talk about their team!

Today we saw 24+ waterfalls, one we even got to walk behind. The waterfalls here are incredibly high and beautiful. Often there are sheep grazing so high where the ground is very steep, so they must have Canadian mountain sheep blood in them!! Haha.

We drove around the base of a mountain with many caves begging to be explored. One of them even went into the mountain and through the top!!

After the waterfalls we went to the coast, where there was an incredible black sand beach that stretched as far as the eye can see! We even got to climb up some treacherous rock faces to explore some sea caves!! We had a good viewpoint to see the fabulous sea arches and stacks.

Tonight we are staying in the cute little town of Vik, southern most part of Iceland! Right now we're sitting in our hostel in Vik enjoying chocolate orange 'cakes' (I'd call them cookies) and pistachios.
