Remarkable Reykjavik

Reykjavík, Iceland
Another fabulous day in Iceland started off with waffles and nutella (Pixie was in heaven!) at a lovely little cafe on Laugavegur, Reykjavik's main street. This was followed by a wander through the old harbour area, where Iceland's one and only military (coast guard) ship is docked. We got the impression it doesn't see much action!
We realized that we haven't seen any puffins so far, which is sort of like going to Italy and not eating pasta . So, we boarded the Puffin Express boat trip out to an island where we certainly got our fill of puffins!
The fresh ocean air heightened our appetites so it was off to the fish and chip shop. Pixie has not yet developed her taste for fish so she decided on a pylsur instead, at the same stand that Bill Clinton frequented.
A great day concluded with a movie on Iceland's many volcanic eruptions, followed by a swan and duck feeding session at Tjornin Pond. We asked at a cafe for a few bread crumbs for the ducks, and were given several loaves worth! Those ducks were very well fed!
Our excellent day ended with a relaxing soak in Reykjavik oldest thermal pool (from 1837), which is literally right next door to our B47 hostel.
