Glaciers and icebergs

Vik, Iceland
Today was a great day with our main activity visiting Jökusarlon iceberg lagoon! We passed no less than 7 glaciers!!! As well as a black sand desert! On our way to the icebergs we stopped at a little side of the road restaurant/cafe. We had no idea what we were ordering because the dishes names were in Icelandic so we just choose randomly! Both meals ended up being basically the same thing... A ham, cucumber and what seems to be the typical Icelandic sauce sandwich. We decided to eat in the car on the way because we were anxious to get to the lagoon, unfortunately this plan did not work out so well... Because of the cucumber and sauce together the sandwiches kept falling apart and everything was slipping out of them!! We only had a few napkins which were used up almost immediately. After eating whatever did not fall out of our sandwiches we thought all the cucumbers and sauce were gone, but it wasn't the case however. We kept finding little pieces of cucumber and sauce everywhere!! On our pants, jackets, seats, steering wheel, car floor, backpack, map, etc. It was a crazy messy meal that was not expected in the least!
We continued on to the lagoon and once we got there we waiting for half an hour for our amphibious vehicle . Since we were there early we were first in line and got the best seats in the car/boat! We boated around the lagoon with these large icebergs all around us and seals playing around us as well! After a while of boating our guide cut off a piece of 1000 year old iceberg for us all to eat. She also told us facts about how the icebergs got to the lagoon and what their journey consisted of. It was a very exiting experience for us!
On our way back to the Vik, our town, we explored this amazing canyon. It had these really cool rock outcrops and formations as well as these skinny parts forming paths that we could carefully walk out to and see the gorgeous river way down below.
And so ends another fabulous day in Iceland...
