An easy day doing nothing

Sliema, Malta
Slight calamity on our return from Gozo. Julie discovered that her phone case was missing (lost or stolen? Not sure).  Phone was safe, but credit cards and licence was gone. Looks like it was lost somewhere between getting off the ferry and onto the bus on the return trip to Sliema.
Today was going to be spent sorting out the lost cards. One of the advantages of the digital age was that we were able to go online and put a lock on the cards which immediately eliminates the risk of them being used. Just to be safe though, we trundled up to the local police station to make a report. Feeling of deja vu of events in Portugal last year. Anyway, soon had it sorted, including a strategy to get around the lost cards.
So a lost day. Hardly. Even though the day was half over by time we got everything sorted, that didn't mean some exploration couldn't be had. Sliema has a lot to offer in its own right. A very picuresque seafront boulevard. Quaint streets and shops. Great cafes and bars to stop for a drink.
Happy hour at a small bar we had discovered seemed the best way to round off the day - including 2 for 1 cocktails. Perfect. What started out as a day of stress and worry turned out to be quite a relaxing interlude to our holiday,
