Off to the far north

Tallinn, Harju County, Estonia
Left Malta on the 14th and flew to Tallinn, Estonia. Four hour flight, staring at the back of a seat, playing peek-a-boo with a baby in the seat in front, trying to ignore an obnoxious child in the seat at the back. NOT a fun time. Some might say that all economy class is the same, but I'm sure that Ryan Air has squeezed in a few extra seats in the same space. Sardine time!
Our flight didn't arrive in Tallinn until 8.30pm, way past the official check-in time. Tallinn City Apartments (where we are staying) has emailed the after hours check-in instructions to us. We have had previous experiences with self check-in, they can be a hassle. And the instructions we had read a bit like war and peace. It was dark and cold. We have had a long tiring day. The last thing we needed was a check-in procedure which was convoluted. Thankfully all went smoothly and it wasn't long before we were lugging our luggage up three flights of narrow stairs (yes, that's right, no lift). Finally got into the apartment, home for the next 8 days.
Right, luggage unpacked and stowed away, devices logged onto wifi, time to find something to eat. No shortage of eateries in the immediate area. Thai below the apartment. Cafe/bar across the road. Cafe on the corner. A couple of hotel restaurants. And a pizza place opposite. By now it's 930pm, we're tired and cold. Pizza it is. Welcome to Tallinn.
