Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Today Drew and Lisa invited friends, a young couple that comes to live here in Rio, he will work with Drew. They are here a week to find an apartment and an school for their little daughter. Lovely people, and so we were to have a Barbecue. A few days before I talked with Lisa and joked about my cooking skills, saying all I could make is chocolate mousse. "could you make one for thursday?". Sure.

Lisa wanted to see how I did, and I had not done it for a long time, so I made a little practice the day before, 100 gr of chocolate, two eggs. 20gr of sugar.
It went smooth, the chocolate melted well in his "bain marie", the egg whites went up and stayed up (I learned recently you need to put some of the sugar in them to “fix” them), and I showed Lisa how to mix very gently the egg whites in the chocolate, so that the mix would stay fluffy. Mmmh. Smells great. We filled a bowl and put it in the fridge to cool off, and we started licking the pot, anticipating the joy of luke warm chocomousse.

Beeeeerk. We both make a horrible face. Disgusting! Lisa says, “it tastes like salt!”Sure it was. She gave me the salt instead of the sugar!!!
As for me, I thought, no problem, tomorrow we make the big chocomousse and be careful to use sugar… but Lisa was a little frustrated ;-) So we started all over again… and then got a good chocomousse!
I have to admit, I had my little success that night ;-)
