Crawley to Tonbridge Kent

Tonbridge, England, United Kingdom
Great nights sleep, just what the body needed.
Woke up feeling refreshed, great facilities. Down for breakfast, excellent service and choice, would definitely recommend.
Off to see Brenda and Rob Ashenden (Rob is a Liddiard on his maternal side) and they live in Crawley.  Nice driver although lots of mist and rather dull overcast type of day.  Finally made it after a five mile detour or diversion as they call it here.  Rob was shocked to see Kelvin standing at the door but was happy to see him when he realised who it was.  Spent a few hours with them, catching up over the past couple of years, amazing how quick the time went as we were talking.  We will see them on Friday for the reunion.
Left around 1530 and headed off to Tonbridge in Kent for the night as we will pop up to Upchurch to see Roger and Tina tomorrow before heading for Swindon and the family reunion at the end of the week.
We passed though Penshurst and a few other old quaint towns today on the way stopping at a couple to take pictures of the old buildings.
Decided to stop for the night at Tonbridge in Kent and stay at the BW Rose & Crown in the centre of town.  Old type hotel but it looks okay.  Had a typical English roast for dinner, rather large serves so I couldn’t get through it all and certainly not room for sweets even for Kel.  We were served by a New Zealander of all people for dinner.
Here’s to a good nights sleep
