4.15pm and on our way to St Andrews, the day was far from over!
What a stunning town this is. Immaculate. Wealthy. Proud. Oozed confidence - then we arrived? Spotted the golf course, Kevin says, I’ll go down this street, indicates right & nonchalantly doodles across the highway, I’m laughing, a cop car is approaching and he’s turned into a no entry, we just drove on, as did the police car and all was good, Kevin then turned the car around at the barrier arm and parked in front of it. 50’ from THAT famous bridge. Kevin is a very good consistent driver and loves the little ripper.
Golfers everywhere, people watching the happenings. A lady took our pic and we took theirs. It’s located the closest I’ve ever seen a golf course to a town, the town has almost been built around it. We then drove by the club house and decided to have a drink. It was very nice & friendly, Kevin had a beer & I had a prosecco and we drank to Nina’s health - 70 on the 28th.
I knew there were two penguins in St Andrews somewhere, I googled and we found them! There are 80 of them (we spotted another 3 driving thru Dundee later), in and around Dundee. They are the Maggie Penguins. https://maggiespenguinparade.com/. I had read all about this fundraiser months ago and was determined to see some of them - 5 will do, I’m happy now! No says Kevin, we'll look for some more tomorrow.
Continued on to Aylth from St Andrews, passing thru Dundee on the way, a much bigger city than I thought. The drive from there to Aylth is a mix of woodlands, open flat rich farmlands, forests, ancient stone walls, just so so pretty and clean. I’ll get some pics tomorrow.
Arrived Aylth 6.45pm.

Did you get to shoot a hole in one? Have you mentioned the Donald's name in Scotland? He has history. I think he still owns a golf club there. If I remember from his biography correc he tried to take over the town-sorry I cant remember that youll have to ask-carefully!

You’re quite right Roger https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_International_Golf_Links,_Scotland. When we went to Ireland Aug 2014, via London rail to Glasgow, rail to Ayr and bus to Stranraer, we passed Turnberry which Trump had just purchased in April 2914. I didn’t know about this one in Aberdeenshire.

I think everyone who goes to St Andrews must get their photo taken on that bridge. We have an almost identical one as well.
