Alyth, Scotland, United Kingdom
Alyth appears to be in a wide fertile Valley, we left this morn around 10am after driving around it for a while, lovely old town, usual tight windy one way streets. We took a back road out of town, shared with cyclists & walkers - no evidence of either but we kept an eye out for them, we did meet up with a huge cattle truck & trailer unit. We kept wondering what the multitude of long white poly houses were growing, I mean like acres of them dotted through out the landscape.
Then suddenly we spotted a JD tractor & bin trailer waiting to be loaded with wheat from the harvester. Very dry dust work. He was a wealth of information, he’s a farmhand, the boss owns 5 farms and they grow: wheat, potatoes, oats, barley (whiskey), oil seed (rape), black currants and game crop (pheasants) for family & friends entertainment. In the poly houses: raspberries, strawberries, blue berries AND CHERRIES! The “boss” used to farm livestock but not anymore. This young ch had worked on harvesters in both islands in NZ.
From then on we tried to identify what we could see in the many, many acres of poly houses we were passing.
Picked up a little hitch-hiker today, goes by the name of Jimmie, he wants to come home with us and live with Charlotte. See if you can find him in the photos Charlotte, he like to bomb them. (We vibered Charlotte today and introduced her to him)
Beautiful, hot, sunny day - all day. We parked the car at the Scottish Antique & Arts Centre and it was saying 26* when we got in it to leave.
Next stop Dundee.

Great you're getting into the REAL Scottish ways of life. Meeting locals is the true meaning of holiday experiences. Often tour guides just ;think" what you like to see. Carry on the excellent commentary. You're a great raconteur.
