Glasgow Airport to Edinburgh City Centre

Glasgow Airport, Scotland, United Kingdom
My flight arrived at Glasgow but I needed to get to Edinburgh to start my trip. I always look these things up on Wiki Travel which has a section of how to 'get in' and 'get out' and is a go to source for researching trips
Glasgow Airport is actually smaller compared to larger international airports. Ours was the only flight arriving at this time and they had replaced Border Guards with electronic gates. These upgrades for "convenience" created huge bottlenecks and lines with only four electronic gates to serve all arriving passengers.
As with supermarkets they are replacing staff with these less efficient electronic self checkouts. I asked to speak to a human agent and told them I was doing so to protect their jobs which they appreciated and that the electronic gates were less efficient.
Outside the terminal are waiting buses to the two Glasgow City Centre train stations and the bus station. I needed a return ticket but didn't know how long they were valid for. The 16 pound return is valid for four weeks so worked fine for my week long trip
They were double decker buses and I was able to get the top front row. Back in the UK it is always interesting to see the road signs, roundabouts, and left hand drive
First leg is a short motorway ride to Glasgow City Centre. My train connection was from Glasgow Central Station, not Glasgow Queen St.
The stone Victorian architecture of the city centre is quite grand and it was early Friday morning work day in the centre.
The bus drops close to Glasgow Central station and next I had to retrieve my train tickets for my onward journey. I learnt from my UK trip last year to buy all your tickets ahead as same day travel tickets can have a big price jump
I had to use my booking reference to retrieve my tickets from the machines. I had an "anytime ticket' which means any non rush hour train after 9.30am.
Glasgow-Edinburgh is a well connected route between the two biggest cities so has frequent trains.
The journey takes about an hour and there were some other people arriving from flights also heading to Edinburgh
The train announcements had strong Scottish accents which may be a bit strong for foreigners not use to them.
It was a relatively easy and quick way to connect from Glasgow Airport to Edinburgh City Centre. See also Vlog of trip (5 mins) - pending
