1998 The Hindu Region

Chase Village, Couva-Tabaquite-Talparo, Trinidad and Tobago
2 hrs, 2 kms

I've still got some time to kill, so I'm going to head on the the next town south . On the map it says there's supposed to be a big statue to the Hindu God Hanuman here somewhere, so I figure I ought to check that out.

The collective taxi only goes so far as St Mary's, a small intersection town. Here I can see the Hindu influence, with several houses having clusters of flags of various colors in their front yards which seems to be a symbol of Hindu devotion. A shrine comes to my attention dedicated to Hanuman, and an Indian passerby sees me looking at it. He seems happy that I'm shown interest in his deity and happily points me in the direction of the real Hanuman statue, across the open fields.

I figure I can count St Mary's as a town, and find a quiet cricket field to do my concert and video clip.
