1990 The American Style Town

Warrens, Saint Michael, Barbados
8 hrs, 7 kms
Day Totals 16 hrs, 20 .3 kms

Next I reach Warrens, a more urbanized area with an American feel--wide highways, big shopping areas with grassy areas and large parking lots... Glass office buildings.

Barbados is unusual because it doesn't have any Mcdonalds that I've seen. From what I find online, it used to, but not any more. I would think that it would be successful here with tens of thousands of tourists that will stick to something familiar rather than try something new (it does have Subway, KFC and at least 1 Burger King).

Barbados has its own fast food franchise, Chefette, which I must say I'm quite impressed--it's got burgers, chicken, pizza--plus the more typical Caribbean foods. The expanded one has a nice salad bar, which is what I'm having today. I having been getting much vegetables lately...

Finally I make my way to Bridgetown, the capital, which I will explore more thoroughly tomorrow.
